About Langridge Organic

Organic Fruit & Vegetable Wholesaler, Langridge Organic Products has its roots in the fields of Mid-Devon, where Bernard Govier began growing organic vegetables on his farm in 1985 with a straightforward ambition: to supply fresh, certified organic produce directly to local businesses around Exeter. It was a hands-on, farmer-first operation — and that ethos has never left the business.

In the early-1990s, Bernard’s nephew Alex Pearce joined the company and recognised an emerging opportunity in London, where a new generation of independent organic retailers was beginning to establish itself. Together, they relocated to New Covent Garden Market in 1995, which provided the platform to grow both the customer base and the delivery footprint — eventually extending Langridge’s reach across most of the UK.

By 2018, annual turnover had grown to nearly £9 million, and the business had outgrown its New Covent Garden base. In August of that year, Langridge moved to its current home: a purpose-suited, 20,000+ sq ft refrigerated warehouse in Feltham, West London. The move was transformative — giving the business full control over its infrastructure, cold chain, and logistics for the first time.

Today, Langridge operates as a 24/7 wholesale distribution business, owned and led by Alex Pearce and Gavin Lake, his business partner for over 25 years, with a dedicated team managing operations around the clock. The Feltham facility serves as a single, highly efficient hub from which Langridge runs its own refrigerated delivery fleet, supplying independent retailers, food service operators, home delivery companies, and food manufacturers across the country.

Environmental responsibility is woven into everything Langridge does. From transitioning its delivery fleet to HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) fuel — dramatically cutting Scope 1 emissions — to pursuing ISO 14001 environmental management certification and committing to net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040, the business takes its obligations to the planet as seriously as it takes organic certification itself.

What has never changed in 40 years is the focus: 100% organic, from field to customer.
